     MISSION STATEMENT OF IMTRI 


 
 

MESSAGE   

 

  Dear Candidate,
  Welcome to the ‘Indian Management Training and Research Institute’s external program and
    thank you for your interest. IMTRI was established in 1980, is one of the oldest management
    institute in India and it enjoys a national and international reputation of excellence. 
  The external programme of IMTRI is one of the earliest examples of IMTRI making Diploma /PG
    Diploma courses accessible to students who are unable to register for a conventional course of
    study. All over  the  world  graduates  of  the  external  programme occupy senior positions in
    national /international / multinational concerns.
   Traditionally, external students have studied alone but now many are registering with IMTRI as
    correspondence students .Our students have different reasons for wanting to study. Some may
    not have  had  the  opportunity  to  follow  a  conventional course in the past but now  wish  to 
    study for diploma or post -graduate diploma, some are seeking qualifications which will improve
    their jobs prospectus, others already hold a professional qualifications, but now want to qualify
    in a new field  for career reasons, some study for personal interest. Whatever the reason,
    we hope you will find what you are seeking in the external programme.

MISSION


MANAGEMENT COURSES THROUGH DISTANCE EDUCATION PROGRAM
              
      

   With a view to encourage the spread of Management Education among Indians, who select business as their carriers 
       or take employment in commercial or industrial firms or other organizations, the IMTRI was established in 1980. The
       Institute drafted a curriculum, specially suited to Indian trade, commerce and industry and embracing at the necessary
       modern requirements. These courses are divided into two classes, namely Diploma Courses and Post Graduate Diploma
       Courses. Success in these courses will enable a person to attain professional status and recognition in expanding field
       of management. These courses are highly and widely valued by industries and commercial concerns. 
     At IMTRI, we believe that helping build a firm foundation in education is the most important investment we can make
       countries’ economic future. Consequently, improving education continues to be our top priority, with a special focus 
       on pursuit of excellence. The primary mission of the IMTRI is to provide career-oriented educational programs of study
       in selected disciplines consistent with the current needs of the various professions. In accordance with this mission,
       the IMTRI has established the following goal. 
     Offer quality, applications-oriented curriculum, designed to produce competent, and innovative graduates who can
       adapt to the rapid changes in management. Consistent with this important consideration, the Institute seeks to enroll 
       qualified students who can benefit from its non-traditional, distance-learning. 
     Contrary to traditional public Institutions systems, where the cost of education is nearly prohibitive and beyond
       reach of an overwhelming majority of the population, the goal of the Institute is to maintain high quality education
       while keeping tuition fees and other expenses as reasonable as possible. Fiscal responsibility continues to be the
       hallmark of the IMTRI’s day-to-day operations. 
     Enhance the opportunities for advancement and career mobility of motivated professionals already employed or
       seeking a career change by offering continuing education programs designed to meet the challenges of a continually
       evolving technology.
     The IMTRI shall offers educationally-sound, state-of-the-art courses and curriculum that are designed to enhance
       students' success in the professional and business market place. It will succinctly state objectives of each course
       or program of study it offers and the means by which the stipulated objectives when he met. 
     IMTRI will carefully screen all prospective students for admission and will admit only those students who have
       reasonable chance of benefiting from the proposed study program. Equitable application of established admission
       standards will constitute the key ingredient in the selection process.
     IMTRI is totally committed to a policy of non-discrimination in its overall conduct including admissions and grade
       evaluations with respect to race, religion, creed, national origin, colour, sexual orientation and handicap. Qualifications 
       of the applicants and their prospects for success for the these programs are the sole criteria for acceptance into the
       academic programs and throughout the students’ tenure of the course. 
     All prospective students should be cognizant of the fact that the English language is the medium of instruction at
       IMTRI. Accordingly all students contemplating enrollment in any program at IMTRI are expected to have reasonable
       command of the English language 
  
     The IMTRI is committed to the pursuit of continual progressively toward enhancement of operating efficiency and
        educational caliber  in the field of  distance learning. Appropriate  research  procedures, including  statistical  data
        gathering, compilation and analysis/evaluation will be used to measure the effectiveness of stipulated courses and
        degree objectives on a on-going basis. This self-study evaluation program will be in keeping with our determination
        to improve our services and will continually provide for the growth of our staff and faculty. 
      IMTRI will always use a written enrollment agreement with each incoming student that clearly specifies the nature
        and sope of academic courses constituting the proposed study plan, the various educational and tutorial services the
        IMTRI will provide as well as the privileges and expected conduct of the enrolled student including his/her financial
        obligations. The written enrollment agreement will conform to fair, sound business and ethical standards and will
        include provisions for withdrawal, cancellation and refund policies. Tuition collection practices and procedures,
        incorporated into the agreement, will be fair and in keeping with sound and ethical business standards.
